What BuildWise Offers

BuildWise serves as an information hub for Belize's civil engineering and construction community. We provide:

All content is for educational and informational purposes only. Nothing on BuildWise is professional engineering, architectural, or construction advice.

Who Can Use BuildWise

You must be at least 18 years old or authorized to represent a company.

If creating an account on behalf of a business or organization, you confirm you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

Creating an Account

Some features require an account. By creating one, you agree to:

• Provide accurate and current information
• Keep your information updated
• Protect your login credentials
• Notify us of unauthorized access
• Accept responsibility for all activity under your account

Accounts may be suspended or closed if they violate these Terms. Professionals and companies may also be required to sign a Professional Profile Agreement or Company Profile Contract.

What Belongs to BuildWise

All content on BuildWise—including text, graphics, logos, design, layout, and software—is owned by or licensed to BuildWise and protected by copyright and trademark laws.

You may not:

• Copy, reproduce, or distribute content without permission
• Use BuildWise trademarks or logos without authorization
• Frame or mirror any part of the site
• Use bots, scrapers, or automated tools to collect data

You may browse and use BuildWise for personal, non-commercial purposes.

Content You Share With Us

When you submit content—profiles, images, comments, or other materials—you give BuildWise permission to use it. You grant a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to:

• Display your content on the site
• Use it in promotional materials
• Modify it for clarity or formatting
• Share it as needed to operate the platform

You retain ownership of your content, including professional project images. You may request removal by contacting buildwisebz@gmail.com. Some content may remain archived for legal reasons.

Professional Listings

BuildWise does NOT verify the credentials, licenses, registrations, or experience of professionals.

If you are a professional: You are responsible for providing accurate information and maintaining valid licenses under Belize law.

If you are seeking to hire: You must independently verify licenses, insurance, qualifications, and references.

• No endorsement is implied by being listed.
• We are not liable for disputes, poor work, or misrepresentation.
• BuildWise is not a party to any contracts between users.

What You Cannot Do

Do not use BuildWise to break laws, harm others, or disrupt the platform. Prohibited actions include:

• Using BuildWise to directly or indirectly attack, discredit, or negatively target other listed businesses, including through external platforms or coordinated behavior.
• Harassment, threats, defamation, or hateful content
• Fraud, deception, or impersonation
• Posting content you do not have rights to
• Infringing copyrights or trademarks
• Using bots, scrapers, or hacking tools
• Introducing malware or disrupting functionality
• Providing false information or misrepresenting credentials
• Sending unsolicited commercial messages or spam

Violations may result in content removal, account suspension, or reporting to law enforcement.

Calculators and Tools

BuildWise calculators and tools are for educational purposes only. They are not substitutes for professional engineering analysis.

• They are not professional recommendations
• They may use simplifications
• They must be verified by a licensed professional
• They may not comply with building codes or standards

Use these tools to learn and explore, but consult licensed professionals for real projects.

Articles and Educational Content

Our articles and guides are general information, not professional advice.

Some content comes from users or third parties and may not be fully verified. Always double-check important information with professionals.

Links to Other Websites

BuildWise may include links to external sites for convenience. We are not responsible for their content, practices, or any issues that arise from using them.

Fees and Payments

Basic access to BuildWise is currently free. We may introduce paid features in the future.

• We will provide 60 days notice before fees take effect
• Continuing to use paid features means you accept the fees
• Fees are charged in BZD or USD
• Payments must use approved methods
• Fees are generally non-refundable
• Service may be suspended for non-payment

Accounts terminated for violations forfeit any prepaid fees.

No Warranties

BuildWise is provided 'as is' and 'as available.' We make no guarantees about accuracy, reliability, uptime, or the qualifications of professionals listed.

Limitation of Liability

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost profits or data.

If BuildWise is found liable, the maximum amount we may owe is the greater of what you paid us in the last 12 months or $50 BZD.

Indemnification

You agree to protect BuildWise from claims arising from your use of the site, your content, violations of these Terms, or misrepresentation of credentials.

Your Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use your information.

Anything you post publicly can be viewed and used by others.

Ending Your Use

You may stop using the site at any time or request account deletion.

We may terminate access for violations, illegal activity, or at our discretion.

You remain responsible for actions taken before termination. Some data may be retained for legal purposes.

These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and any other agreements form the entire agreement.

If any part is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
